Radio Communication Tester
Key Features & Specifications
R&S®CMX500 Radio Communication Tester
Designed to cover all test applications in 5G, supporting e2e data rates up to 20 Gbps
The R&S CMX500 radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz brings extensive device testing capabilities to the market, covering standalone (SA), non-standalone (NSA), TDD, FDD, FR1 and FR2.
The R&S CMX500 provides support for all 5G NR modes including FR1 (sub6 GHz) and FR2 (mmW), non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA), for both FDD and TDD. The R&S CMX500 works seamlessly with the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester, the industry standard for cellular (LTE, C-IoT, 3G, 2G) and connectivity (WLAN, Bluetooth®) testing. The combination of the R&S CMX500 with the R&S CMW500 provides complete coverage of all major commercial wireless technologies.
Designed for signaling and non-signaling tests in all 5G frequency bands, including sub 6 GHz (FR1) and mmWave (FR2) frequency bands, the R&S CMX500 seamlessly integrates with the R&S CMW500 to simplify the testing roadmap from 4G/LTE to 5G. As 4G/LTE and 5G will coexist for years to come, the combination of the R&S CMX500 and R&S CMW500 radio communication testing platform eliminates risk and future-proofs volume manufacturing testing systems.
In high volume testing of mobile phones, test time and reliability are critical. Measurements must reflect real use case scenarios to ensure impactful, meaningful data that yields accurate failure rates. False failure rates slow manufacturing and slow the time-to-market. This is especially critical by the introduction of new technologies with new behavior like NSA mode in 5G, which requires an LTE anchor.
When used together, the R&S CMX500 and R&S CMW500 provide a test platform capable of testing 2G, 3G, WLAN 802.11ac and ax, LTE Release 8-15 including VoLTE and 5G NR devices in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA), TDD and FDD modes. ConRes is taking advantage of these capabilities to cover the latest 5G RF test requirements combined with existing test plans.
