The Amplifier Research 5000A225 is a self‑contained, air‑cooled, broadband solid state amplifier delivering up to 5000 W (10 kHz–50 MHz), decreasing to 3500 W at 225 MHz, with push‑pull MOSFET design for low distortion, high stability, and excellent gain flatness and mismatch tolerance. It features a Digital Control Panel (DCP) with graphic display, menu‑assigned softkeys, a rotary knob, gain control, automatic level control (ALC) with threshold adjustment, and RF output protection.
It supports AM, FM, and pulse modulation faithfully, rugged mismatch tolerance, fast 10 ns RF rise/fall times, and multiple remote interfaces including GPIB/IEEE‑488, RS‑232, fiber, and USB, with front‑panel keylock to secure local/remote mode.
