The Amplifier Research 500A250C is a self‑contained, air‑cooled, solid‑state broadband amplifier delivering a rated 500 W from 10 kHz to 250 MHz. Push‑pull LDMOS stages minimize distortion and enhance stability, with up to 600 W at 3 dB compression and ≥57 dB gain (20 dB continuous adjustment). It tolerates load mismatch to 6:1 without foldback at 500 W. The Digital Control Panel combines a color LCD touchscreen and rotary knob to display forward/reflected power and internal status, with local/remote control via GPIB/IEEE‑488, RS‑232, RS‑232 fibre, Ethernet and USB.
Ideal for RF susceptibility, antenna/component testing, wattmeter calibration, particle accelerators, plasma generation, communications, and as a driver for higher‑power amplifiers—where instantaneous bandwidth and high gain are required.
