The Anritsu ME3630A is designed to evaluate high-speed repeater spans in STM‑64 (STS‑192) networks. It features independent transmitter and receiver units where the transmitter generates STM‑64/STS‑192 signals and the receiver measures errors, alarms, and performance parameters. The instrument supports pseudo‑random patterns from 2^7‑1 to 2^31‑1, configurable mark‑ratios, and error injection functions such as B1, AIS, and FERF. It also provides path‑layer evaluation through STM‑1/STS‑3 signal embedding and extraction.
