Calibrating Digital Multimeters
The 5500A sources precise AC and DC voltage, current and resistance, allowing you to perform routine and performance‑level calibration on handheld and bench digital multimeters. Its wide ranges and accuracy mean one instrument can replace multiple single‑function calibrators, helping reduce downtime and overall calibration costs while maintaining confidence in day‑to‑day measurements.
Calibrating Oscilloscopes up to 300 MHz
With the SC300 option fitted, the Fluke 5500A can generate fast edges, time marks and leveled sine waves required for verifying bandwidth, rise time, gain and timing on analog and digital oscilloscopes up to 300 MHz. This capability allows you to support mixed fleets of oscilloscopes used in R&D, production test and troubleshooting without the need for separate, dedicated scope calibration systems.
Additional Applications
Beyond multimeters and oscilloscopes, the 5500A can support calibration of clamp meters, power meters and other electrical test instruments when used with appropriate accessories and procedures.
