The Boonton 4500A Peak Power Analyzer was designed for analyzing RF signals with digital modulation, multiple carriers or complex coding techniques, Hard to measure HDTV and spread-spectrum signals like CDMA and WCDMA are easier to view and analyze with the Boonton 4500A and appropriate sensor.
Along with all the time domain measurements of Boonton's 4400A, the 4500A adds a number of statistical measurements that are made on a continuously sampled RF signal. If you opt for the second input channel option, you are able to monitor two sources, such as input and output power, simultaneously. Powerful math functions can be used to analyze the differences between channels, making difficult measurements like output stage compression and intermodulation distortion easy to identify and to correct.
