The BSA85C is an 8.5 Gb/s member of the Tektronix BERTScope BSA C-series, combining a pattern generator and error detector with eye diagram and BER contour analysis in one instrument. It covers 0.1 to 8.5 Gb/s and is used to locate problem bits and pattern sequences in serial data links.
Option STR adds stressed signal generation for receiver jitter tolerance testing and bundles several analysis packages; further software options cover jitter decomposition, PatternVu equalisation and PCIe stress. It is typically paired with the CR125A clock recovery instrument and DPP125 pre-emphasis processor for serial standards compliance work.
