The Keysight (Agilent) 81640A Tunable Laser Source supports both C- and L-Band operation, making it ideal for DWDM component testing. It offers a wavelength range from 1510nm to 1640nm with a maximum output power of 4dBm. This laser provides mode-hop free tuning across the full range, excellent wavelength accuracy of ±0.015nm, and repeatability of ±0.5pm. Signal integrity is ensured with a signal-to-source spontaneous emission ratio of ≥60dB/nm and total SSE ratio of ≥55dB across 1530–1610nm.
Designed for critical optical testing, the 81640A includes a real-time wavelength meter and enables high-power output for amplifier evaluation. Though superseded by the 81640B, it remains upgradeable and highly effective for laboratory environments.
