The ML4039E is a 4-channel bit error rate tester for 400G measurements, operating as 4-channel PAM4 or NRZ at 23 to 29 and 46 to 58 GBaud. It provides IEEE/OIF patterns (PRBS13Q, SSPRQ, PRBS31Q), a custom TX pattern of up to 131 kb, TX and RX equalisers, and SNR, histogram and BER measurements.
Used for optical transceiver validation and production testing and signal integrity work; controlled with the ThunderBERT GUI, which also supports FEC/SER measurements. Half-width 2U benchtop unit (two fit side by side in a 19-inch rack). Variants include ML4039EN (crosstalk noise injection) and ML4039E-ATE.
