The Newport 70710 precision current preamplifier converts ultra‑low photodiode or PMT currents into a clean voltage. It provides six selectable transimpedance gains (10⁴–10⁹ V/A), DC–~100 kHz bandwidth, and a wide linear dynamic range. Input noise is very low (e.g., < 2.3×10⁻¹² A/√Hz at certain settings). Low input impedance at high gain (~8 kΩ at 10⁹ V/A) reduces source loading. The amplifier delivers a ±10 V maximum output swing and operates from an external ±15 V DC supply.
Optimized for spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and other faint‑signal optical measurements, the 70710 lets users tailor sensitivity to weak signals via its gain steps while maintaining accuracy and stability with minimal noise.
