The Schaffner NSG 223A module is designed to generate high-energy pulses typical of those caused by switching inductive and capacitive loads or lightning strikes. It delivers pulses up to 2 Joules, available via mains coupling or separate sockets for component testing. With an internal impedance of 45 Ohm, the generator ensures safer operation compared to strict IEC 801-5 standards while still delivering 1.2/50 μs test pulses.
This unit is ideal for simulating surge events in compliance testing and for assessing the robustness of input circuits against overvoltage stress. Both symmetrical and asymmetrical mains coupling are supported for versatile testing.
