The M8041A is the core 3-slot AXIe module of the J-BERT M8020A high-performance BERT, combining pattern generator, error detector and clock generation at up to 8.5 or 16 Gb/s. It integrates calibrated jitter injection, 8-tap de-emphasis, adjustable ISI for loss emulation, and built-in clock data recovery and equalisation. Up to four 16 Gb/s BERT channels can be fitted in a 3-slot chassis, with expansion to 32 Gb/s via the M8061A multiplexer.
Supplied as BERT (C08/C16) or generator-only (G08/G16) versions with licence options for second channels, jitter, de-emphasis, ISI and interface-specific link training. Used for PCI Express, USB 3.x, SAS-3 and 10GBASE-KR receiver characterisation and compliance testing.
