The Narda SRM-3006 Selective Radiation Meter is the 2nd generation hand-held system for narroband analysis of electromagnetic fields, produced by Narda. Differentiating itself from the Narda NBM-520, NMB-550 and NBM-580 Broadband Radiation Field Meters, the SRM-3006 has the ability to give you the results of individual emitters and also generate a total of all emitters. The SRM-3006 allows you to verify compliance with the US FCC 5% Rule, as well as accurately detect fields well below domestic and international standards. The Narda SRM-3006 also has the ability to measure fields more accurately than broadband test equipment, and perhaps more importantly, it is able to give the user more information than just the total emissions; you will know precisely what emitter or emitters are generating the most power.

At the time of this writing, there is no other measurement system in the world that provides all the information and accuracy as the Narda SRM-3006. The US version of the SRM3006 includes the basic unit, and a 2-axis, E-field antenna (27 MHz to 3 GHz and works down to 200 µV/m). The meter is essentially a Spectrum Analyzer which covers the 9 kHz to 6 GHz spectrum, which has been enhanced to also make accurate field strength measurements. The SRM-3006 can be used with any compatible antenna, but is optimized to work specifically with Narda's calibrated high-performance antennas.  

The Narda SRM-3006 is portable, rugged, splash-proof, incorporates a very readable color display, GPS Receiver and microphone for voice editing, and includes the SRM-TS software package. Additional antennas are available.

 

Features of the Narda SRM-3006 include:

  • Fast, reliable results using predefined measurement routines, setups, and automatic settings
  • LTE and UMTS operating modes for evaluating pilot signal information and extrapolation to maximum exposure levels

  • Editable tables for automatic correlation of results with telecommunications services (e.g. broadcasting, GSM, WiMAX)
  • Individual preparation of field campaigns with subsequent evaluation and handling of large quantities of measurement data
  • Suitable for outdoor use: Radiation protected, robust, splash-proof, ergonomically designed; uses exchangeable rechargeable batteries; equipped with integrated GPS and voice recorder

 

Operating modes of the SRM-3006 include:

Safety Evaluation

For a fast overview of the exposure levels due to individually definable frequency ranges, services and providers as absolute values or automatically evaluated according to common human safety standards.

 

Spectrum Analysis

for detailed analysis of the fields in the frequency domain with all the facilities of a full function spectrum analyzer.

 

Level Recorder

for fast, direct display of the time characteristics of a signal at a settable fixed frequency with bandwidths up to 32 MHz.

 

Scope (option)

for real time graphical display of pulsed signals versus time similar to an oscilloscope, with resolutions from microseconds right up to 24 hours.

 

UMTS P-CPICH Demodulation (option)

for selective detection of the field components due to individual cells, with extrapolation to maximum field strength at full load.

 

LTE mode (option)

for measuring the cell-specific signals of LTE cells in FDD networks and extrapolation to maximum field strength at full load.
