The N4965A is a modular multi-channel BERT controller for characterising multi-lane serial channels from 1.0 to 12.5 Gb/s NRZ. It accepts up to five remote heads in any mix of pattern generators (N4955A) and error detectors (N4956A).
Clocked externally, typically by an N4960A or N4963A, and controlled with N4980A software. Used for crosstalk susceptibility testing, backplane and multi-lane characterisation and parallel production test.
