The Keysight (Agilent) 3730B features an RF module that mixes the RF input with a local oscillator to generate an intermediate frequency (IF) output. When AFC is OFF, oscillator tuning is manually adjusted via the front panel. In NORMAL AFC mode, the system compensates for frequency drift up to +40 MHz with a 140 MHz IF or +20 MHz with a 70 MHz IF, ensuring stable operation across varying conditions.
