The Keysight (Agilent) 8496H is a programmable step attenuator covering DC to 18 GHz with attenuation steps from 0 to 110 dB in 10 dB increments. Precision gold-plated leaf springs ensure superior reliability, repeatability (typically 0.01 dB), and a long service life exceeding 5 million cycles per section. Insertion loss is minimal (0.6 dB + 0.09 dB/GHz at 0 dB), and switching time is under 20 ms. With SWR as low as 1.5 up to 8 GHz and power handling up to 1 W average and 100 W peak, it meets demanding RF test needs. Connector options include type-N, SMA, or APC-7, and remote programming is supported via 12-pin Viking or optional 14-pin DIP.
